Seeing. Doing. Learning. Earning. Progressing.
Welcome to the ExxonMobil Fawley Apprenticeship Campaign.
Your first year will be based at SETA (Southampton Engineering Training Association), Millbrook. Here you’ll focus on completing a range of practical training modules that will cover a wide range of engineering disciplines.
These will include skills such as welding, fitting, electrical, machining, mechanical and electrical maintenance and process logic control, you will gain this knowledge through hands-on experience. In short – you’ll learn by doing and you will start to acquire the skills, knowledge and behaviours that will allow you to successfully complete your apprenticeship.
We’ll make sure you learn all the theory needed to back up your newly acquired expertise, too.
Whilst studying at SETA you will embark on a level 3 BTEC qualification in Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or a level 4 HNC, depending on your previous qualifications.
The BTEC / HNC will be obtained by attending college one day a week. However, the majority of your training and key skills development will be learnt first-hand at the Fawley refinery during the next two years.
The second year will see you move around the different areas of the Fawley site to gain a better understanding of how we work. And moving into your third year, you’ll work towards completion of a portfolio of evidence that will allow you to complete the final End Point Assessment that is the final step to becoming fully qualified.
What’s more, you’ll begin taking on more responsibility and gain our prestigious and bespoke Refinery Trade Test qualification.
So, after the three years you’ll have stacked up a range of practical training modules, an ExxonMobil Trade Test, a CCNSG Safety Passport, a BTEC Level 3 Diploma or an HNC and successfully completed an Apprenticeship following the Science Industry Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
With all that under your belt, there’s every chance for you to embark on a successful career with ExxonMobil.
